ABSTRACT:
This study examines students’ satisfaction with hostel support services, focusing on security, recreation, internet facilities, and hostel staff in a university setting. A structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale was administered to 110 students, and data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, and correlation techniques. The findings indicate that while mean scores suggest generally positive perceptions across all service dimensions, response distributions reveal a substantial proportion of neutral and dissatisfied students, indicating that satisfaction is not strongly established. Reliability analysis shows good internal consistency for security and recreation dimensions, while the internet dimension exhibits comparatively lower reliability, suggesting variability in user experiences. Correlation analysis reveals that all service dimensions have a statistically significant positive association with overall satisfaction. The study highlights that support services play a critical role in shaping students’ hostel experiences; however, inconsistencies in service quality and performance limit overall satisfaction. The findings emphasize the need for balanced improvements across all support service dimensions, particularly in enhancing internet reliability and ensuring consistency in recreational and administrative support. The study also underscores the importance of considering response distribution alongside mean values for a more accurate interpretation of student satisfaction.
